Hi, this is Yutao (Alan) Zhou. I work as a Software Engineer at Tradeweb. I obtained my master’s degree of computer science at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Before that, I obtained my bachelor’s degree of computer science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
I am passionate about solving problems by my code. My goal as an engineer is to develop applications that benefits people and makes a difference to my surrounding environment. I am proud that I have done something to put the goal into practice.
Before starting my full-time job, I worked as a Software Engineer Intern at the supply chain department of IBM. My team is responsible for developing a big data platform to utilize large amounts of data more efficiently.
Besides this short industrial experience, I’ve also done a research about optimization of video streaming under Prof. Fangxin Wang’s supervision. In the research, I developed a real-time video analytics system and used machine learning to improve the streaming process with an intelligent configuration controller. Very fortunately, this work is accepted as oral by an academic conference (IEEE ICME 2022).
Outside of work, I love Music & Cook.
